DUBAI, 26th February, 2020 (WAM) — Australian Paralympic champions Reed McCracken, silver medalist in “Tokyo 2020” and Tunisian Walid Kteila, winner of two gold medals in “Tokyo 2020”, expressed their gratitude for participating in the 14th edition of the “Fazza International” athletics championship for people of determination.
The two players were keen to participate in the “International” Fazza Athletics for People of Determination over the course of more than one previous version, in addition to their participation with the “Elite” in the current version, whose activities began today, Sunday, with the participation of 66 countries.
Reed McCracken confirmed his happiness to be present for the second time in an event the size of the Fazza Championship, one of the world’s strongest athletics championships.
He pointed out that the standard participation in all editions of the championship reflects its prestigious position on the map of sports for people of determination, and said: “I came to Dubai to compete after I achieved the silver medal in the 13th edition, and in this edition I seek to set a world record and reserve my seat early in the new edition of the Paralympic Games.” (Paris 2024).
Katila, who won 5 medals (4 golds and a silver) in the Paralympic Games in London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020, in addition to 4 world records in the 100-meter, 200-meter, 800-meter and 1500-meter competitions, considered that the “Fazza” international championship By all accounts, it is considered the most powerful world championship in athletics, describing the Dubai Club for People of Determination track as “global”.
He said, “I am looking forward in the current version to achieve new world records and to give everything I have to reach more achievements and qualify for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.”
