Muscat, September 28 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, visited today the Royal Opera House of Oman, within the framework of His Highness’ visit to the sisterly Sultanate of Oman.

Upon his arrival at the house, His Highness was received by His Highness Sayyid Kamel bin Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers in the Sultanate, and Nasr bin Hamoud Al Kindi, Secretary General of Royal Court Affairs.

His Highness heard from those in charge of the Opera House the idea of ​​the project to establish the Royal Symphony Orchestra by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, “may God have mercy on him”, and the stages of its establishment, in addition to the establishment of the Opera House, which was designed to suit the latest modern technologies, both in terms of theater movement Or lighting or sound .. His Highness listened to an explanation about the facilities of the house, the nature of the performances it offers and its program throughout the year and the equipment it included, which is one of the latest equipment used for international music shows.

During his tour of the house’s theater and other facilities, His Highness was also acquainted with the architectural richness of the house and its ability to harmoniously blend the Omani architectural heritage and the architectural culture from different continents of the world. He was also briefed on the role played by the Royal Opera House in the cultural field. It offers a high level of classical art.

The Royal Symphony Orchestra performed musical pieces to welcome the visit of His Highness the President of the State, in addition to performances by the Military Drums Ensemble, the Fulali Ensemble and the music of the Royal Guard of Oman.

His Highness the President of the State recorded a speech in the register of senior visitors, during which he said: “I was pleased to visit the vibrant Royal Opera House and listen to the Omani Symphony Orchestra, in which tradition and modernity blend in a refined harmony. Arts are a common global language, a link between cultures and an important means of spreading human values.” The most important of which are communication, peace, tolerance and coexistence among peoples, which are the same values ​​that Oman enjoys harmony and love under the leadership of my brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman.”
