Sharjah, June 5 / WAM / The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah revealed a number of activities on the occasion of World Environment Day focusing on the importance of publicizing World Environment Day and community awareness.
HE Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, said: “Every year we focus on the importance of publicizing World Environment Day, and we have a variety of activities, programs and awareness events.
She added: The celebration of World Environment Day this year comes under the slogan “We only have one land”, which indicates the importance of living sustainably in harmony with nature, and working to bring about transformative changes in policies and choices to enable living in harmony with nature in a cleaner and more environmentally friendly manner. and more sustainable.
It is noteworthy that the number of nature reserves today in Sharjah has reached 15, and the number of its affiliated centers has reached 14, while the authority carried out awareness campaigns in land and marine areas during the past year and the first quarter of this year, amounting to more than 30 awareness campaigns, and issued violations against A number of non-compliance with the requirements of the Authority related to the protection and preservation of the environment.
