SHARJAH, 29th January / WAM / The 41st edition of the annual Police Shooting Championship, organized by the Police Sports Federation at the Ministry of Interior, will start tomorrow under the auspices of Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and will be hosted by the Sharjah Police General Command at the shooting ranges at Al Khedira Camp in Sharjah. It will continue until the 9th of February.
The tournament, in which about 450 shooters representing various general police commands in the country, the General Command of Civil Defense and the Special Security Forces, will participate, in addition to the participation of the Saudi and Bahrain shooting teams. Brigadier General Muhammad Humaid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, President of the Police Sports Federation, affirmed that the Ministry of Interior is keen to diversify sporting tournaments, activities and events in a way that ensures the achievement of the desired strategic goals by spreading sports values and concepts in the police community.
He said: “We are working in the Police Sports Federation, in cooperation and coordination with all police general commands in the country and partners, to organize the best tournaments permanently and according to a program prepared and approved since the beginning of each year. Physical fitness and physical strength, in addition to qualifying them according to advanced practices in the sports fields to represent the United Arab Emirates through the national teams, and to be supportive, supportive, and complementary to the work of the national sports federations, and to achieve honorable results that enhance the UAE’s advanced position and good reputation in all fields.
He added, “We particularly welcome the good annual participation of brotherly Gulf teams and teams in the military shooting championship, such as the sisterly teams of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, which enhances the meeting and sports competition and raises performance levels.”
For his part, Brigadier General Muhammad Khamis Al-Othmani, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Police Shooting Championship in Sharjah, said that the Sharjah Police General Command is hosting the 41st edition of the annual shooting championship, which is organized by the Police Sports Federation, with the participation of 13 teams representing various police and security leaderships in the UAE, along with participation from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. “.
He added that the organization of this annual tournament is an affirmation of its importance and the results it has achieved over the course of 41 years, and the great positive communication between the police leaders of the Ministry of Interior, the exchange of experiences, the development of capabilities and skills for the employees of the Ministry, and the guarantee of readiness and optimal preparation. This matter came to achieve the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior and to enhance teamwork and self-confidence Working in a team spirit, leading to leadership, excellence and continuous improvement in performance.
He pointed out that this tournament and other various sports competitions and their sustainability aim to prepare and qualify qualified and trained national cadres to provide clubs, sports federations and national teams with distinguished elements capable of achieving positive results and raising the name of Islam in Arab, regional and international forums.
