In an attempt to appease the current context of the country, Emmanuel Macron says he heard during the demonstrations an opposition to this pension reform but also “a desire to find meaning in one’s work, to improve its conditions, to have careers that allow one to progress in life.”
”No one, and especially not me, can remain deaf to this demand for social justice and the renovation of our democratic life. Nobody, and me in particular”, admits the president of France.
For the President of the Republic, the answer does not lie in immobility and even less in extremism. The Head of State calls for “act together beyond divisions, as I have always sought to do, in the service of a clear course: that of independence and justice”.

Negotiations will focus on the need to “improve employee income”, “advance careers”, “better sharing of wealth”, “improve working conditions”, “find solutions to professional attrition” or even “ help with the reconversion,” he added.
Emmanuel Macron added that “the door would always be open to the unions” to negotiate. However, they refused to go to an invitation set on Tuesday by the Elysée.
The president has also promised to “unclog” all emergency services by the end of 2024.
More gendarmerie brigades in the countryside and 10,000 additional magistrates
