On the occasion of her concert in Auxerre this Friday, December 8, 2023, the singer was able to meet the historic coach of AJ Auxerre, Guy Roux. An emotional meeting for the young woman whose grandfather was a big supporter of the AJA. She pays tribute to him in her album, in which a song is dedicated to him (and whose clip was filmed at the AJA). Giving a concert in Auxerre was therefore essential for the singer, like a sort of pilgrimage, enhanced by this meeting with Guy Roux. An AJA fan herself, Hoshi was able to listen to the legendary coach’s footballing memories, but also other musical anecdotes in particular.

“It’s a lot of emotion for me”
Meeting Guy Roux is bound to be a lot of emotion for Hoshi. The young singer seems remain in awe of the legendary AJA coach. However, she has already met Guy Roux “but I was four years old”, specifies the young woman. It was during a match at the Stade l’Abbé-Deschamps, with his grandfather, Marcel, a loyal supporter of the club. “It was cold ?”asks Guy Roux, “oui, the singer timidly confirms, But it’s still cold, isn’t it?”and slowly the first laughs begin.
Hoshi couldn’t help herself: she stopped by the Abbé-Deschamps stadium when arriving in Auxerre, to raid the store and dress her team in blue and white scarves. Continuing with the meeting of Guy Roux, it’s “a lot of emotions” for the young singer. “It makes me feel so special, I tell myself that my grandpa would have been so happy. I think of him a lot, it’s for him this evening. I come back to memories of my youth, which make me who I am today too. today.” Among this transmission, this passion for AJ Auxerre.

Hoshi still follows the club and the players, with a little crush on Gauthier Hein this season. Obviously, the artist listens with a lot of respect and fascination the footballing anecdotes of which the legendary AJA coach has the secret. And against all odds, Guy Roux also has musical anecdotes to share, to the singer’s delight. “Jacques Brel came by railcar from Paris, all alone with his guitar and his suitcase to Migennes. No one had prepared a room for him, so he rehearsed with the Escale orchestra”, says the former coach. With eyes shining, Hoshi punctuates the story with “amazing” fascinated. As a sign: Hoshi’s grandfather listened to Jacques Brel a lot.
The singer ends this meeting delighted and with an autograph from Guy Rouxon one of Hoshi’s favorite books: Confidences, from the Auxerre coach, obviously. It will now be listed: “My regards to Mathilde [le prénom civil d’Hoshi]”, words that will follow the artist throughout her tour, because she keeps this book close to her during her travels. After several thanks, in a very emotional voice, the singer returns to prepare for her concert, with these words: “It’s for sure, I’m going to cry on stage tonight, I’m really emotional. I don’t know what state I’ll be in tomorrow.” During the concert, Hoshi will pay tribute to his grandfather several times, not without tears indeed, to the songs of Ajaist supporters sung by the Silex audience.
