“S plainly“, “Magnificent “, “fairy “…Visitors leave visibly enchanted by this lantern festival. Luminescences is back, since the end of October and until April 1, 2024, at the Amnéville zoo, located an hour’s drive from Arlon.
The zoo held this event for the first time last winter. 110,000 people went to the animal park, four times more attendance than usual during the same period. With this success, it is therefore not surprising that the Amnéville Zoo has done it again.
This year, 2,000 lanterns, twice as many as last year, were installed along a 1.4 km route. That’s more than 10,000 light installations! “80% of the lanterns have been renewed compared to last season“, announces the Amnéville Zoo.

Around thirty technicians from the specialist company Lantern Group came specially from China. It took them two months to create the lanterns and arrange the route. It must be said that this know-how is demanding and meticulous. The LED lights are covered by hand with fabrics. Fabrics which are then painted to add even more magic.
“Welcome to Paris”. Welcome to Paradise. The event lives up to its name. Once night falls, the lights take us into another universe. Nine other universes to be more precise: in Africa, among flowers and birds, in an enchanting world, in the tropics or even under the seas… to name just a few of them.
And the magic happens! Accompanied by a specific musical atmosphere, each universe transports visitors to another dimension. Like in a dream. From the youngest to the oldest, eyes shine with wonder. The public is won over.
The light trail opens its doors from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., depending on how dark it is during the season, and closes at 9 p.m. Last entries at 8 p.m.
In terms of price, it costs €17 when booking online (€20 on site per adult, €18 per child). It is not given. The organizers visibly encourage visitors to also visit the zoo since the combined ticket is €25.50/adult during the week (€19.50/child) and €29.50 on weekends and school holidays (€23.50). /child).
