Thomas Tuchel has announced his 25-man England squad for the upcoming November Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain. The selection features first-time call-ups for Borussia Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham and Fulham’s Josh King, while Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer has been omitted from the side.
The squad announcement was made at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 6, with the manager holding a subsequent press conference to discuss his selections. This squad is the final group selected before a four-month break from England action, with the team not returning for international duty until March 2027.
No Cole Palmer in England squad. Right call by Thomas Tuchel. There was a lot of talk about Palmer possibly being recalled today to the England squad to face Croatia and Spain. In form for Chelsea, five goals, three assists, undeniable talent etc. Yet what happened in the last…
Who are the notable inclusions and exclusions?
The headline inclusion is Jobe Bellingham, who joins his older brother, Jude Bellingham, in the senior squad. Fulham teenager Josh King also earns his first call-up after impressing during the June World Cup warm-up camp.
While the squad welcomes back Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Ben White, as well as Tottenham’s Djed Spence, several high-profile players have been left out. Alongside Cole Palmer, Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo has been overlooked. Other omissions include Nico O’Reilly, who dropped out of the squad, as well as Dean Henderson, Dan Burn, and Jordan Henderson, who were not selected after missing the previous camp. Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Leeds United’s Jayden Bogle were not included.

The squad also faces significant injury absences, with Alex Scott, Marcus Rashford, John Stones, Tino Livramento, Reece James, and Trevoh Chalobah all ruled out. Bukayo Saka is unavailable due to a thigh injury, and Tuchel opted against calling up Noni Madueke as a replacement.
How is the squad shaping up for the Nations League?
England currently sits second in their Nations League group, trailing leaders Spain by three points. The team is well-positioned for the quarter-finals, holding a six-point cushion over Croatia. A draw or a victory in the upcoming home game against Croatia would guarantee a top-two finish in the group.

Captain Harry Kane, who recently won the 2026 Ballon d’Or and remains the nation’s all-time top scorer with 91 goals, returns to the side. He is currently chasing Peter Shilton’s record of 125 appearances to become England’s most-capped player. The squad features a mix of experience and new faces, including Leeds United’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin—who was named despite recent foot injury concerns—and goalkeeper James Trafford, who recorded a clean sheet in a 2-0 win against Czechia during the previous international window. The full list of selections includes:
- Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Jason Steele (Brighton & Hove Albion), James Trafford (Leeds United)
- Defenders: Ben White (Arsenal), Djed Spence (Inter Milan), Ezri Konsa (Arsenal), Jarell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen), Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Lewis Hall (Newcastle United), Marc Guéhi (Manchester City), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Real Madrid)
- Midfielders: Declan Rice (Arsenal), Elliot Anderson (Manchester City), James Garner (Everton), Jobe Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Josh King (Fulham), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal)
- Forwards: Anthony Gordon (Barcelona), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds United), Eberechi Eze (Arsenal), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Morgan Rogers (Chelsea), Rio Ngumoha (Liverpool)
England will face Croatia at home next Thursday, followed by an away trip to Spain three days later. Supporters can hear Harry Kane discuss the upcoming fixtures on talkSPORT Drive next Wednesday at 4 p.m.
