England will broadcast all the women’s FA Cup matches for the first time

England takes another step in the growth of women’s football. The country will televise for the first time all the knockout rounds of the Women’s FA Cup live and open. All eight matches will be broadcast on the BBC, FA Player and social media. The match between Arsenal and Manchester City will be broadcast free-to-air on BBC Two, and the remaining seven matches will be streamed through social networks.

This fact responds to the statements of the executive director of the English Football Federation (FA), Mark Bullingham, who last October underlined the need to “make the rest of the competition grow” beyond the final. To this end, the federation has doubled the tournament’s financial prizes, up to 6 million pounds (7 million euros).

This is also the first season of the FA’s new sponsorship with Adobe, which will name the women’s competition until 2026.
