This comes from the developer’s Twitter/X post, which states that while you can jump into the expansion with your current character/save, the game has changed a lot with update 2.0 and it’s recommended that you start over. “Due to the number of changes, starting over will enhance your overall gaming experience!” the post reads. While this is a recommendation from CD Projekt, there seems to be nothing stopping you from taking your original characters on a new adventure.
