Authorities ready to tighten biometric registration in Kuwait. Biometric registration is currently not made mandatory at land and air borders, but the authorities have directed security officials to complete the biometrics of foreigners entering the country at the airport itself. Al-Anba, a local media outlet, reported that the concerned official was also given the authority to count the number of flights and passengers and allow them to collect data if there is an increase in passenger traffic.
Officials said that fingerprint devices have been installed at all the country’s borders and are currently equipped to complete biometric procedures within a minute. Biometric registration is not required for traveling out of Kuwait. But the authorities have clarified that they will have to provide biometric information on their return.
