Entrepreneurship: 48,000 businesses created in six months

The number of business creations in Morocco stood at 48,001 units during the first six months of 2022. This is what emerges from the general dashboard of the Moroccan Office for Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC). .

These companies are divided between legal persons with 33,529 units and natural persons (14,472), specifies the same source.

By sector, trade monopolizes 36.28% of total business creations, followed by building and public works (BTP) and real estate activities (18.23%), miscellaneous services (17.29%), transport (9.12%), industries (6.81%), hotels and restaurants (6.37%), the information and communication technologies sector (2.54%), agriculture and fishing (2.27%) and financial activities (1.09%).

The regional breakdown shows the Casablanca-Settat region in the lead with 13,687 companies, ahead of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (6,698), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (6,547), Marrakech-Safi (4,677), Fès- Meknes (3,767), Souss-Massa (2,920), Oriental (2,721), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (2,252), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (1,706), Drâa-Tafilalet (1,367), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1,190) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (469).

Regarding the legal form, 62.7% of the companies created are limited liability companies with a single partner (SARLAU), 37% limited liability companies (SARL) and 0.2% public limited companies (SA).
