Eric and Sabine de Crombrugghe think locals know what happened to their daughter Natacha: “People are afraid to talk”

Eric and Sabine de Crombrugghe, parents of Natacha, returned to Cabanaconde, the small village from which their daughter left to go hiking. Since this morning of January 24, when she left with her bag on her back, she is still missing.

The search has resumed but the Peruvian authorities, who were helped for a while by Belgians who came to lend a hand, have still not found the young Brussels girl.

The parents of the young woman, contacted by our colleagues from Sudinfo, testify from Peru: “Last week in Arequipa, we met, thanks to the Belgian ambassador, the various Peruvian police officers who are dealing with the disappearance of Natacha. They reassured us about the resumption of research. The police were able to start probing the river because the waters finally began to drop. Last week, they found the pants of Kevin Ramos, the young Peruvian who fell into the river the day after Natacha disappeared. We also managed to get the private guide, Eloy Cacya, who found several people in the canyon, nicknamed the angel of the disappeared, to collaborate with the police to guide them in this region that he knows inside out. “

The couple from Linkebeek hope to find Natacha safe and sound. “The local police are thinking of finding our daughter’s body in the river since they did not find her in the canyon, which will allow them to possibly open a criminal investigation. We would prefer that they proceed in reverse: that they investigate first, to find Natacha alive if possible. Our hope is to find her as soon as possible. But for that, we need a clue, some information… Someone to speak up and put us on a track. We have the impression that people are afraid to speak,” confide Eric and Sabine.
