American singer and songwriter Eric Carmen is dead.
– Our kind, loving and talented Eric passed away in his sleep over the weekend. He took great joy in knowing that his music for decades touched so many and lives on,” his wife Amy Carmen said in a statement reported by Variety.
Eric Carmen broke through as a singer in the group The Raspberries and then went on to pursue a solo career.
Among the most famous songs are the world hit “All by myself” from 1975 and “Hungry eyes” from the film “Dirty dancing” from 1987. The former got new life Celine Dion did a cover 1996.
Eric Carmen was 74 years old.
