EU summit agrees on declaration on Middle East

In a statement decided on Thursday evening, they called for, among other things, “humanitarian corridors and breaks for humanitarian needs,” as a spokeswoman for EU Council President Charles Michel announced on X (formerly Twitter).

In the summit declaration they emphasize Israel’s right to defend itself in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law. Hamas is called upon to immediately release all hostages without any preconditions.
