Brussels/EU-wide – After the EU summit in Brussels on Thursday, Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) emphasized that the “paradigm change” in EU migration policy had “set new standards”. In their summit declaration, the 27 EU states called for “decisive measures at all levels to facilitate and accelerate returns.” The EU Commission is asked to “urgently present a new draft law”. Commission President von der Leyen also announced this.
