European Championships: the Tornados in the 4x400m final after a great suspense, the Cheetahs qualified too!

Engaged in the first semi-final of the 4x400m relay, the Belgian Tornados suffered to qualify for the final, finishing in fourth place, in 3:01.81, for an unfortunate hundredth against Germany. Launched by Alexander Doom, the Belgian relay sailed for a long time between 4th and 6th position. The 4th with Alexander Doom, the 6th with Jonathan Borlée. Author of a superb last straight line, Jonathan Sacoor moved the Belgian team up to 4th place, it was up to Dylan Borlée to try to seize third directly qualifying. With about ten meters behind the fourth German runner, Dylan gave his all, but therefore did not manage to overtake him. For a hundredth… Fortunately, without consequence, the Belgians signing the first time recovered.

Second, the Cheetahs directly into the final!

Superb performance, on the women’s side, of the Belgian Cheetahs, also qualified for the 4x400m final. Well launched by Naomi Van Den Broeck in the first semi-final, the Belgian relay finished second, in 3:25.44, behind Great Britain, but ahead of Poland. The Belgians have always run in second position with Imke Vervaet, Helena Ponette and, to finish, Camille Laus who has regained her winning legs. What if the Cheetahs won this Saturday, in Munich, the first international medal in their history?
