Paris (AFP) – European stock markets closed slightly down on Friday following a solid employment report in the United States, which should confirm the US Federal Reserve in its monetary tightening strategy to curb persistent inflation.

The Parisian market fell by 0.23% and its German counterpart lost 0.17%. Over the whole week, the CAC 40 declined by 0.47% and the German Dax (-0.01%). The London Stock Exchange was closed, due to the jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
