“The police are on the spot, the demining is on the spot”, affirmed a spokesperson of the SETE, adding that “it is a usual procedure in this kind of situation, which is nevertheless rare”.
The evacuation, which began around noon, concerns the three floors of the monument, including the restaurant of the tower, as well as the forecourt, added this spokesperson.
Shortly following 1:30 p.m., all visitors had been evacuated.
