NTN Rolamentos do Brasil, which is part of the NTN Group with more than a century of experience in supplying products to automakers, as well as all business units spread around the world, develops sustainable practices and constantly evolves this work with the adoption of new processes and expansion of actions aimed at environmental issues, always seeking to ensure proper waste management.

The company, which has a plant in Paraná, already has ISO 14,001 certification and is in the process of implementing ISO 50,001 certification, norms related to environmental and energy management, advancing even further with programs aimed at sustainability, as well as assuming the commitment to reduce carbon emissions, monitoring and setting neutrality targets by 2050.

With a constantly evolving recycling program, NTN has already achieved high levels of waste collection, correctly disposing of 96% of the waste generated. According to Thiago Lammel, Environment and Energy Analyst at NTN and one of those responsible for the organization’s sustainability projects, this number is the result of a series of practices adopted by the company, such as recycling materials, such as plastic and paper, and co-processing hazardous waste. By forwarding this waste to co-processing, the company avoids sending potentially harmful materials to landfills, helping to reduce the environmental impact.

NTN invests in the treatment of hazardous waste and counts on the participation of companies specialized in transporting and managing this entire process and forwarding the material to a cement industry to later be transformed into energy and its inert components to be used in cement production.

It also promotes the collection of used cooking oil, which is only possible with the active participation of employees. This collective work avoids water and soil pollution, providing an appropriate destination for this material. The partnership with the company Preserve Ambiental and a cooperative of recyclers in Pelotas (RS) allows vegetable oil to be recycled into biodiesel and handmade soap, minimizing the environmental impact and generating benefits for the local community.

It is with these actions and implementation of new measures that NTN joins efforts to ensure sustainable development and promote socio-environmental responsibility.
