Even in the month of fasting, Israeli brutality continues in Gaza, 72 more Palestinians martyred

Even in the month of fasting, continuous bombing and firing by Israel continues. Despite the demand of the UN and world leaders for a ceasefire in the month of Ramadan, no progress has been made so far, as a result of the Israeli bombing in the last 24 hours. 72 Palestinians were martyred.

The countries that tried for a ceasefire in Gaza before Ramadan, Qatar, Egypt, and the United States have failed to reach a ceasefire. A source related to the ceasefire talks told AFP, “In the first half of Ramadan.” Diplomatic pressure will also be put on Israel for a ceasefire.

According to the report of the Qatar Broadcasting Agency, the Israeli army has shot and killed three Palestinian citizens, including a teenage boy, in Jerusalem.

On the other hand, heavy firing continues between Hamas and Israeli soldiers near the Jenin refugee camp.

At least 31 thousand 184 Palestinians have been martyred and 72 thousand 889 have been injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel in the October 7 attack by Hamas is 1,139.

On the other hand, the Israeli Prime Minister says that they want the end of Hamas through the ground operation in Rafah.

In addition, American senators demanded Joe Biden to stop the supply of arms to Israel, in this regard, 8 American senators including Bernie Sanders wrote a letter to US President Joe Biden.

The letter demanded that the US put pressure on Israel not to obstruct the delivery of aid, on the other hand, Australia has also urged Israel to change its policies in the war.

It should be noted that the Palestinians suffering from famine, hunger and disease will fast in the environment of the Israeli war, considering that the Israel-Hamas war has entered the sixth month.

Hezbollah chief meets key Hamas member

Earlier on March 12, Hezbollah said that its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, had met with Khalil al-Hiya, a key member of Hamas’ political bureau. Hezbollah said in a statement that they discussed ceasefire talks in Gaza as well as support for Hamas’ war effort.

Hezbollah chief Nasrallah is scheduled to speak on television today (March 13). Hezbollah has repeatedly said it will stop its attacks on Israel with a cease-fire in Gaza.

But Israeli Defense Minister Yves Gallant said Israel’s goal of removing Hezbollah from Lebanon would remain the same even if there is a cease-fire in Gaza.

Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in October 2023, at least 317 people have been killed in Lebanon, mostly Hezbollah fighters, but also 54 civilians.

At least 10 soldiers and 7 civilians have been killed in cross-border clashes in Israel.

‘Israel and Hamas are no closer to a Gaza ceasefire deal’

On March 12, Qatar said in a statement that Israel and Hamas were not close to an agreement to end the war in Gaza and free the hostages, warning that the situation was ‘extremely serious’.

“We are not close to an agreement, the two sides have not been able to agree on anything so far that can resolve the current disagreement on the implementation of the agreement,” said Majid Al-Ansari, spokesman for Qatar’s foreign ministry.
