Indonesian women’s badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung managed to beat Taiwan’s representative, Pai Yu Po in the second match of the 2024 Asian Badminton Championship.

Gregoria won two straight games with a score of 21-19 and 21-16 at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, Ningbo, China, Thursday (11/4).

Even though he won two straight games, Gregoria was not satisfied with his performance. Because, he admits that he often makes his own mistakes which benefit his opponent.

“Even though I won, I have to admit that this was not a good match for me. The more I wanted to get points, the more I often threw away points,” said Gregoria.

“I am really not satisfied and comfortable with today’s match. Luckily I won,” he added.

Even though he was uncomfortable with his game, Gregoria admitted that he continued to try to correct mistakes in the match until he finally won it.

In the next match, Gregoria will face the host representative, Chen Yu Fei. He is also motivated to perform even better.

“Tomorrow I have to meet Chen Yu Fei. He certainly has his own motivation because he plays in front of the public himself. I just want to try to play better than today. Tomorrow I have to appear calmer and have to be able to read the situation,” he concluded. (Z-6)
