Former US President Donald Trump has been charged in connection with an alleged hush money payment to a porn actress.
The New York Times reported on Thursday. Trump is the first former US President in history to face impeachment. The right-wing populist, who wants to compete again at the 2024, denies all allegations and describes the investigation as a politically motivated “witch hunt”.
The grand jury in New York is responsible for prosecution. The deliberations of the committee consisting of 23 citizens are secret. A decision was originally expected towards the end of April.
$130,000 for porn actress
The investigation is about a hush money payment of $ 130,000 (around 120,000 euros) to porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election. The porn star, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims to have had a sex affair with Trump in 2006, what this denies. The payment itself is not illegal, but charges could include forgery of business documents or illegal campaign finance.
