In round 15 of the win2day ICE Hockey League, HC Bozen won 4:3 after extra time against Asiago Hockey.
The “Foxes” are the better team for long stretches, but Thomas only managed to score the lead for the Bozen team shortly before the first third break in the 18th minute.
Saracino equalized for the “Stellati” from Asiago in the middle third (22nd), Miceli was able to restore the “Foxes” lead in the second half with his goal to make it 2-1 (35th).
Halmo brings the decision
Rapuzzi’s equalizer from close range (45th) was followed by Gazley’s lead goal for the home team (49th), but exactly half a minute later Moncada restored the stalemate with a hard shot into the top corner to make it 3-3.
The “Foxes” survive the final offensive of the guests, who are spurred on by the chance of a victory in Bolzano to launch a final offensive, and after 60 minutes it goes into extra time. Halmo is finally the match winner for Bozen with a slap shot from the right side – 4:3 after almost two minutes of overtime.
In the table, “Foxes” and “Stellati” are still on the edge of the places for the pre-playoff: Bolzano is in tenth place with 13 points, Asiago is eleventh with eleven points.
