This step comes as part of the Kingdom’s strategy to enhance openness to the world and promote tourism as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The goal is to increase the tourism sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product from 3% to more than 10% and create one million jobs in this sector.

Citizens of seven other categories can also obtain this visa for tourism and religious purposes, visiting family, and attending events.

The Kingdom also provides a transit visa for travelers who use Saudi Airlines and Flynas to stay for 96 hours before continuing their journey to their final destination.

The Ministry of Tourism plans to expand the e-tourist visa system to include more countries and regions in the future, in conjunction with improving the infrastructure of the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
