Kuwait City: Two expatriates were arrested for trying to smuggle diesel in Kuwait. Asians and Africans were arrested. According to the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the accused were caught during the investigation conducted as part of the arrest of those illegally distributing subsidized diesel.
Selling subsidized petroleum products in the country without permission from the authorities is punishable. They sold diesel in Al Soor and Sulaybiya areas. Those arrested have been handed over to the concerned departments for further legal action.

At the same time, many expatriates were arrested in Kuwait for illegal manufacturing and sale of foreign liquor. The General Department of Criminal Investigation has arrested two expatriates who sold foreign liquor.
An Arab and an Asian were arrested. 206 bottles of foreign liquor were seized from them. Authorities arrested nine more expatriates involved in illegal liquor manufacturing. Asians were arrested. Meanwhile, the Directorate of Security in Al Ahmadi Governorate caught two people with locally produced liquor. Those arrested have been handed over to the concerned departments for further legal action.

62 expatriates including domestic workers were deported from Kuwait
Kuwait City: The Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait informed that 62 Sri Lankan citizens who stayed in Kuwait without sufficient documents have been deported. Those who stayed illegally on temporary passports were deported. Sri Lankan media reported that the deportees arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Kadunaike.
59 of the deportees are domestic workers. They were doing various jobs in Kuwait after their domestic service contracts ended. The Sri Lankan Embassy spokesperson said that they were living in temporary shelters in Kuwait on a monthly salary of 250 dinars.
With the cooperation of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait, Ministry of Home Affairs, Criminal Investigation Department, Courts and other concerned authorities, their temporary passports were prepared and sent back to Sri Lanka. He added that more than 2,000 Sri Lankan domestic workers have registered with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait to return to the country.
