Musandam, a part of Oman, is a popular tourist destination from the UAE. Due to its geographical proximity to the UAE, the ease of travel is a factor that attracts everyone here. But the authorities have implemented a new plan to attract tourists.
This is the Zipline and Oman Adventure Center in Musandam Governorate. Zipline project is one of the highlights of Oman Adventure Centre. The project holds the Guinness World Record for being the world’s longest zipline above water. The operating hours of the zipline are from 9 am to 4 pm every day.
The project and related facilities were prepared by Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran Group) in Khasab Province. The zipline is 1800 meters long, starting from Jebel Hafeet and passing through the beautiful landscape of Khor Khadi and Mokhi region. Its landing point is at Athana Khasab Hotel.
Musanda is the highest zipline in the world. It is at a height of 220 meters. Once the project becomes a reality, adventure-seeking tourists will be able to experience the beauty of Musandam and the surrounding countryside. The construction of the project started in March last year. In accordance with international safety standards and procedures, advanced braking system, helmets and safety jackets to protect the riders have been prepared here. The construction of the road to the zipline site has also been completed. The work on the road, which is about 1500 meters long, started in August last year.
The zipline is a major part of the Adventure Center project that started in Musandam Governorate early last year. It is expected that this will give more impetus to the tourism sector of the governorate. Besides attracting large tourist groups and adventure enthusiasts, the project will also help increase investment in the area’s entertainment and economic sectors.
