2023-12-19 21:31:27

Zdravresurs experts propose to include in the Ministry of Health’s procurement lists drugs recommended by WHO for the treatment of drug-resistant forms of tuberculosis (DR-TB). In particular, clarithromycin, imipenem/cilastatin, pretomanid, as well as clofazimine and meropenem. According to the Russian clinical guidelines for the treatment of tuberculosis in adults in 2022, the last two drugs are recommended for use, but the indications for their use in the treatment of DR-TB are not included in the instructions. According to Nikolai Bespalov, development director of the analytical company RNC Pharma, it may not be economically feasible for pharmaceutical companies to conduct additional clinical studies to make changes to the instructions.
