“Exploring the Final Fight Universe in Street Fighter 6: Carlos Miyamoto’s Cameo and More”

The Street Fighter universe is rich with interesting characters and ideas that aren’t often explored in games, though Street Fighter 6 is looking to change that a bit.

With Metro City playing such a large part in the story of SF6’s world tour, it’s no surprise that we’ve seen few more Final Fight characters than the Damned/Thrasher.

In the trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter 6 trailer, some Final Fight fans and users of this site pointed out a familiar face from the series that players will interact with.

Twelve seconds into the video, a man appears in a blue suit with long hair and a sword on his back, who appears to be Carlos Miyamoto.

Carlos appeared as one of three playable characters in Final Fight 2, but he didn’t get the same level of play outside of that game as Maki and Mike Hager over the years (along with Cody, Jay, Bozon, and Hugo).

As far as we can tell, Carlos doesn’t actually appear in Street Fighter, except for a brief cameo in the 1995 cartoon Western where he doesn’t actually say a word.

Now, it’s not 100% clear that this guy is actually a Brazilian fencer, but even if he wasn’t, this is a direct reference to him 30 years after he first appeared.

The Mad Gear villain was shown off in the first full trailer for Damned SF6, so we know the ultimate fighting men are technically out there somewhere. It is a matter of whether we can actually see and interact with it.

With Carlos as a story NPC, player-created character missions that play in that gang would be great, and hopefully Capcom will lean more into the existing cast of characters from Street Fighter and Final Fight and technically into a shared universe. Until Saturday night Slam Masters.

Hell, it would be fun to see some references to other Capcom properties like Mega Man, Resident Evil, and Devil May Cry, even if they aren’t Street Fighter-themed.

With Kimberly studying Buchinryu under Kai, there’s at least a good chance he or Maki will be hanging around Metro City, which fans will surely appreciate.

It looks like we’ll see more of what the SF6 World Tour has to offer on April 20th, and we can’t wait to see how many hints and characters Capcom has to offer. to get their new look in Story Mode.
