Several studies have already suggested the deleterious effects of pollution on the brain, central nervous system (CNS) and cognition. This study focuses on the effects of PM2.5 fine particles and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on motor skills after stroke. This work, carried out at the University of Hiroshima and published in the specialized journal Particle and Fiber Toxicology, reveals, in particular, the effect of PAHs which reinforce inflammation in the brain, which can aggravate movement disorders after Stroke.
