Formula1.com technical expert Mark Hughes has named the Ferrari F1-75 as the ‘most innovative car’ for the 2022 F1 World Championship.
The Ferrari F1-75 was equipped with two of the biggest innovations of the season. Its aerodynamics, with ‘cliff’ outwash sidepods and a unique top surface channel, deliver an excellent combination of floor and rear he wing performance.
Secondly, under that shapely engine cover was an all-new 066/7 power unit. The turbo was smaller than its rivals and the intake tract was longer, combined with an ultra-fast ignition system that improved low-speed response and made the most of the 500 bar fuel pressure allowed by the regulations.
The unique combination of aerodynamics and power unit recorded a spectacular string of pole positions, although reliability still needs improvement. Above all, it shows the depth of creative talent that exists at Maranello.
