Facebook Reels get longer videos, templates and more

A Meta today announced some news for the Facebook Reelsvideos similar to those present in the Instagram. The main one is the limit increase of the duration of the videos for 90 secondsin addition to other additions that facilitate and improve the creation of Reels.

Until then, the limit was 60 seconds; this change had already taken place on Instagram Reels and are now reaching Meta’s other social network. It is worth remembering that the TikTok — the main competitor of short videos — has increased the length of videos posted on the platform to ten minutes for some time now.

Other news are Reels pre-assembled with memories, which synthesize various contents previously posted in a video, and the Grooveswho use the technology visual beat to align and synchronize movements on the Reels to the rhythm of a song. We still have models to create new videos.

According to Meta, Reels are the company’s main rising format; posts and shares of these videos on Instagram and Facebook have more than doubled in the last year and the last six months, respectively.

These new features — which had already arrived on Instagram a few months ago — are now available in the Facebook app for iOS and will soon arrive on Android.
