The Grand Council of Geneva does not want the vote at 16
The left-wing project to grant political rights from the age of 16 did not make it through parliament on Thursday.

Like Zurich recently and the canton of Vaud last year, Geneva will not grant the right to vote from the age of 16. On Thursday, the Grand Council refused to take this step by 48 votes to 38. The majority was made up of the PLR, the UDC, the MCG, while part of the Center was in favor of the project. Opposite, the PS and Ensemble à Gauche voted compact, but the Greens were not unanimous.
