TSV 1860 Munich hosts Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Cup. An early but big highlight of this season. All information about the cup cracker in the news ticker.

Update from July 29, 5:46 p.m.: Three hours until the cup cracker! Anyone who has anything to do with TSV 1860 Munich will be hot as fries for this game. at Sports1 sixty icons Thomas Häßler, Stefan Aigner, Michael Hofmann and Ned Zelic get in the mood for the game.

Thomas Häßler: “It was a very nice and successful time with the Löwen and from a sporting point of view it was a less nice time at BVB. However, being so many years apart, I consider this time a valuable experience. You not only learn from the successes, but also from the negative phases of life.”

Stefan Aigner: “The lions started the season well, the cup game has to be seen separately. Sixty is definitely an outsider there, but at home in the Grünwalder stadium under the floodlights anything is possible. I see sixty very well positioned. It is absolutely possible to advance against BVB.”

Michael Hofmann: “Hopefully Sixty can build on last season’s cup games and cause a sensation. Of course, the Löwen squad was good last season, but unfortunately not so good in the end that you got promoted. With these new signings there is absolutely second division quality.”

Ned Zelic: “It’s going to be a very exciting encounter and it’s really tingling! Both clubs have big goals this season. 1860 are expected to rise and Dortmund are expected to play for the title and progress much further in the Champions League and Cup than they did in the old season. That makes this game all the more explosive.”

Sign of climate protection in the DFB Cup: All games start one minute later

Update from July 29, 1:52 p.m.: The lions ask their own supporters on their website to make their way to the stadium on Grünwalder Straße in good time. From 6:45 p.m., two hours before the game kicks off, fans can come to the Giesinger cult site. The club is also asking viewers to arrive publicly. Local fans should take the U2 to Silberhornstrasse. The guests are guided via the Wettersteinplatz with the U1.

Update from July 29, 12:24 p.m.: In the first round of the DFB Cup, the DFB sets an example for climate protection. All games will start one minute late. Loudspeaker announcements are planned in the stadiums to draw the fans’ attention to the topic of climate protection. A joint fundraiser is also planned. All clubs pay 100 euros for each goal they score, which goes to the charitable campaign “Sports for Future” and is doubled by the DFB in the end.

The association also recommends that clubs offer a vegan or vegetarian alternative to bratwurst. The team captains will also wear a special captain’s armband.

TSV 1860 – BVB: Which tactic does Köllner choose?

Update from July 29, 11:46 am: With what tactics does Michael Köllner want to crack the black and yellow tonight in the DFB Cup cracker? Two tips with Fynn Lakenmacher and Marcel Bär would be an option. “He played a great game“, last year’s top scorer Bär praised his colleague after the 4: 3 win at Dynamo Dresden. If the Löwen head coach opts for a 5-3-2 system with a stable five-man chain, the Bär/Lakenmacher duo would be set in attack.

Update from July 29, 11:12 a.m.: Returnee Tim Rieder is as hot as chip fat for the duel against Borussia Dortmund: “A highlight game in my career – there is no better draw”, the midfielder is looking forward to the floodlit duel in the DFB Cup. The 28-year-old promises the fans a hot fight on Friday evening in the Grünwalder Stadium: “Full pot. Everyone is upside down. It doesn’t get any better than that!”

Coach Michael Köllner doesn’t want to overrate the game against the runners-up: “It’s a big game for our club. It’s about money and reputation. But for me personally it’s not a special game. If we play against Oldenburg next week, I’ll be just as nervous.”

Update from July 29, 10:52 am: Completely sold out: The tickets for the cup cracker this Friday evening were sold out in no time at all. The lions brace themselves for the onslaught of fans and open the Grünwalder stadium two hours before the BVB game.

The folders will certainly have their hands full. Mainly because countless 1860 fans will be arriving at the same time. At 4:30 p.m., the Löwen supporters will meet at Hans-Mielich-Platz and at 6:30 p.m. they will move to the Grünwalder Stadium. They also designed a special motto shirt for the occasion.

TSV 1860 against BVB: Investor Hasan Ismaik apparently not in the stadium

Update from July 28, 4:30 p.m.: 1860 investor Hasan Ismaik will apparently miss the duel against BVB. “He won’t come there, I don’t think so,” replied Michael Köllner in a conversation with the “Evening News“, when asked about a meeting with the sponsor as part of the cup game.

“There’s always a certain risk of tripping”: BVB doesn’t think it’s safe around 1860

Update from July 28, 3:25 p.m.: Before the game, BVB coach Edin Terzic praises TSV 1860: “They have developed well in recent years,” he said at the press conference at the start of the cup. But puts his finger in the wound: “After making one or the other unfortunate decision in the last decade.”

However, Terzic assesses the recent past only positively: “The lions have worked very continuously in the last two years. They finished fourth in the table last season, but were second in the second half of the season. They have taken this run with them into the new season and have also strengthened themselves very well.”

The BVB coach does not rule out a sensational victory for the lions either: “It’s the DFB Cup, a knockout game. So there is always a certain risk of stumbling.” Of course, Dortmund has nothing to give away. “You all know that the DFB Cup is very important to us,” emphasizes Terzic.

TSV 1860: tailwind for cup hit against BVB – will the pot professionals strike again?

First report from July 28, 12:12 p.m.: Munich – After the successful start of the league is before the cup cracker: TSV 1860 receives Borussia Dortmund im DFB Cup. And Giesing is looking forward to a highlight in the Grünwalder. Last year, the lions eliminated FC Schalke 04 in the first round, so the Ruhr area should have been warned. Is the sensation against BVB possible this year?

Small advantage for the lions: Michael Köllner’s team is already well-rehearsed. In the first competitive game of the season, the lions won 4-3 at Dynamo Dresden. Of course, the victory against the promotion contender gives the newly assembled team tailwind in the cup.

The lion pros are rested too. During the week, 1860 competed in the pool game at SV Rödelmaier, but rotated completely against the district league team. No player from the Dresden starting eleven was in the squad. Greilinger, Lang, Willsch, Freitag, Wein and Skenderovic collected game minutes.

Rested for the DFB Cup: TSV 1860 Munich protects professionals in the soccer cup

In the DFB Cup, Köllner is likely to fall back on his successful eleven from the league opener. The lion coach only has to do without the ailing Yannick Deichmann. New signing Joseph Boyamba is also still missing.

In the test against FC Villarreal, Borussia Dortmund gave the first indications of how coach Edin Terzic wants to form his team. The failure of striker Sebastien Haller (the Dortmund newcomer suffers from testicular cancer) apparently catches Marco Reus in the center of the storm. Borussia play defensively with a five-man chain.
