Fanb disables clandestine track in the Canaima National Park

In another procedure, they dismantled illegal structures belonging to armed groups.

Giving continuity to the operations carried out in the south of Bolívar state, this weekend members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) located and dismantled a clandestine track in the Canaima National Park.

Said discovery was made in the Gran Sabana municipality, therefore, the institution reported that its commissions moved to southeast Venezuela to continue with Operation Roraima, which began in October 2022.

The general in chief of the Strategic Operational Command of the Fanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, also revealed that the clandestine track belonged to “armed groups that carried out illegal mining” arbitrarily in the national park, he also stressed that the brigades found and dismantled their camps.

“All illegal mining structures and equipment built in our natural parks and protected reserves will be dismantled and destroyed,” Hernández Lárez said through his Twitter account.

He explained that the miners detonate explosives with “non-traditional methods in the open sky, disrespecting all kinds of regulations.”

In another procedure carried out this weekend, the Fanb located five structures created on the rivers of the park, which had installed piping and wiring systems.

Hernández Lárez asserted that in those structures over the water, the military found long weapons.

The rifles were confiscated and the buildings would be dismantled.

More than a thousand ammunition

In two months, the Fanb has seized more than a thousand high-powered weapons ammunition; they have found three graves with human remains and have dismantled mining group camps in Tumeremo, Guasipati, and Canaima.
