FAR planes deliver emergency aid

Planes of Royal Armed Forces (FAR) began on Saturday at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airportthe emergency aid delivery operation for the benefit of populations affected by severe weather and snowfall.

In this context, early in the morning, teams from the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and the Royal Armed Forces who work in coordination with the departments concerned and the local authorities to meet the needs of the impacted areas at the level of the provinces of Zagora, Ouarzazate et Taroudant.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI had given His High Instructions to the various departments concerned, in order to coordinate all the means to be mobilized and to provide the necessary assistance and provide aid to the affected populations.

In a statement to M24, MAP’s continuous news channel, Abdellah Omar Moussa, head of the medical-humanitarian center of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, stressed that it is about the delivery of humanitarian aid for target areas.

This operation is of a particular and exceptional nature insofar as it takes place after the heavy snowfalls and the considerable drop in temperatures forcing populations in certain areas to live in difficult conditions, which requires the Foundation to be close to these populations and quickly interact with their needs, he added.

And to continue that these conditions have led the Foundation to undertake this operation which includes, in addition to food support, social support and medical services for the benefit of the population, noting that the Foundation has mobilized all of its teams (social workers, doctors and specialized managers).

Mr. Moussa stressed that this operation reflects the Foundation’s commitment and its permanent interaction with the High Guidelines of HM King Mohammed VI, relating to the assistance of the population in conditions requiring support.

This operation, carried out by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity through an airlift ensuring the delivery of this aid, aims to intervene locally with the population, particularly in mountainous douars and remote areas through humanitarian aid. which consist of food products and blankets, in addition to adequate social support and local medical care, he explained.

In addition to the mobilization of Royal Armed Forces planes for this purpose from Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport, helicopters will be deployed to reach isolated areas.
