A fatal collision involving a bicyclist and a motor vehicle occurred early Thursday morning in San Jose. According to San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih, the incident took place around 4:20 a.m. at the intersection of North First Street and Trimble Road.

The tragedy was one of two separate fatal bicycle-related traffic incidents impacting the city within a single day.

The first incident occurred in North San Jose, where officers arrived at the junction of North First Street and Trimble Road following the 4:20 a.m. impact.

Hours later, a second fatal collision unfolded. According to NBC Bay Area, a bicyclist was killed in a collision around 7:45 a.m. near the Highway 101 on-ramp at Tully Road. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The driver involved in the Tully Road incident remained at the location and cooperated with investigators. Law enforcement closed westbound Tully Road from South King Road to the Highway 101 on-ramp for an extended period, forcing motorists to seek alternate routes.
