A 37-year-old man lost his life this Friday at the end of the day following a road accident in rue d’Ougrée, in Angleur. The tragedy occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. For a reason that the investigation will have to determine, the driver of a van lost control of his vehicle, according to two witnesses who witnessed the scene.

The van then collided with a truck. Under the force of the impact, both vehicles ended up on their sides. Police, firefighters and emergency services immediately rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, it was too late for the thirty-year-old driving the van, who died on the spot.
The Liège public prosecutor’s office was informed of the facts. The magistrate had the victim’s phone seized to see if it was in use at the time of the accident, which might explain the loss of control. Toxicological analyzes were also requested to ensure that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
