The 47-year-old came off the slopes in the Nauders ski area for reasons that are still unclear and crashed into a tree, the police said. Witnesses provided first aid, and later the piste rescue team and an emergency doctor arrived by helicopter. However, resuscitation measures were unsuccessful and were stopped after about half an hour.
