A swimming accident at the Ausee ended fatally this afternoon. As reported, divers were initially able to rescue and resuscitate the person – it is a 20-year-old Afghan. He died in the evening at the Kepler University Hospital in Linz.
AIR MOUNTAIN. A fatal swimming accident occurred on May 21 at around 4:10 p.m. in the Ausee in the municipality of Luftenberg. A 20-year-old Afghan from the Linz-Land district jumped several times from the 3-meter tower in front of his 20-year-old friend, also from the Linz-Land district, according to his statement.
Divers found the 20-year-old at the bottom of the lake
After the friend went away for a short time to make a phone call, he saw nothing more of the poorly swimming casualty when he returned and then set the rescue chain in motion. Fire brigade divers found the 20-year-old some time later at the bottom of the lake. After receiving first aid from an emergency doctor, he was admitted to the Kepler University Hospital, where he died in the evening.
