Faurecia receives 213 million euros from the EU to develop hydrogen in France

(Archyde.com) – Faurecia announced on Monday that it has received financial aid of 213 million euros from the European Union for its Historhy Next project under the Hydrogen IPCEI program.

The Historhy Next project aims to develop and industrialize a new generation of hydrogen tanks, gaseous and liquid, by the end of 2027.

According to the group, production will begin in 2024 at the Faurecia plant in Allenjoie, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comt region, with a rate of more than 100,000 units per year.

The European Commission on July 15 authorized 15 Member States to allocate public funding of up to 5.4 billion euros under the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) program to support research, innovation and the first industrial deployment of hydrogen technologies in the region.

Gaztransport & Technigaz and McPhy Energy were also able to receive funds under the IPCEI to develop their respective hydrogen “giga factories” projects.

In addition, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced last month the launch of ten industrial projects, in the context of the IPCEI and supported by the French State to the tune of 2.1 billion euros, to develop hydrogen. green” in France.
