COMIKUS Faza Meonk and Mice Misrad officially launched their collaborative book, entitled Proposal from the People. The book discusses the life and socio-political criticism of the elected president in Indonesia from the perspective of the younger generation.
“Initially, I made a sketch, Bang Mice continued the drawing and so did I. When we had our respective sessions on this book, we worked on it individually,” said Faza Meonk, Saturday (23/3).
Proposal from Rakyat is a collaborative comic from two comic characters who are frontal (nyablak) and witty, namely Si Juki from the creator of Faza Meonk and Mice from the creator of Mice Misrad.
Through this book, Faza Meonk and Mice Misrad discuss political dynamics and social criticism from the perspective of the characters Juki and Mice in a different and entertaining way.
As two critical and eccentric characters, Si Juki and Mice have the idea of providing solutions for a better life for the people by making proposals from the people for the new elected president. However, does this proposal contain a solution for the people or is it Si Juki’s personal project?
Even though it is full of subtle satire wrapped in the typical comedy of Juki and Mice’s characters, Faza and Mice are not too worried about repressive actions that might be carried out by related parties.

They are also optimistic that, through this book, the younger generation will be more ‘literate’ about current and future government policies.
“The current government is not so stupid. What I fear most is chaos from within,” said Mice.
“Hopefully those who read it will be entertained and those at the ‘top’ will also be entertained by this book,” concluded Faza.
The book Proposal from the People will be distributed in bookstores throughout Indonesia in April 2024. The 140-page book is priced at IDR 88 thousand from the publisher Bukune. (Ant/Z-1)
