An oil and gas exploration company lost its bid to recover its gas lease within western North Dakota’s Fort Berthold Reservation after a federal court ruled it lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.
Prima Exploration Inc. had claimed that two other exploration companies, PetroShale Inc. and Enerplus Resources Corp., secretly worked with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to secure an oil and gas lease covering more than 300 acres of the reservation.
