Chefs in Paris are preparing for a difficult task awaiting them during the 2024 Olympic Games in the French capital.

The Olympic Games will witness the provision of 550 types of meals to serve 15,000 athletes, and the chefs will be responsible for preparing about 40 tons of food daily to meet different tastes and cultures.

Chef Charles Guillot, CEO of the Sodexo Live group, which will be responsible for providing meals around the clock in the Olympic Village north of Paris, will lead a team of 300 people who will feed attendees from 206 countries.

Sodexo Live had provided meals to the participants of the French Open Tennis Championship who were at the French National Football Institute.

“We will welcome the world to our table. We want to obtain 25 percent of the ingredients for our meals from local sources,” Gilo said in statements to Reuters while preparing one of his famous meals.

He added: “The menus are ready, and have been approved by the International Olympic Committee and the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee. There is one main dining hall in the Cinema City (the dining area in the Olympic Village) that includes six restaurants, and another hall in Ile-Saint-Denis (which are inside the Olympic Village which Its area is 52 hectares.

In addition, a bakery will be open and athletes will be invited to come to workshops to prepare their own bread.

The provision of services will begin on July 10, 16 days before the start of the Olympic Games, and will continue until September 12, four days after the end of the Paralympic Games, with the help of a thousand people who will work around the clock in the village.
