When will RTTK cards go up? – How the RTTK upgrade system works in FIFA 23
Of course, the Road to the Knockouts event is also back in FIFA 23 and follows the same principles as last time. When will RTTK players level up in FIFA 23?
- When an RTTK player’s team qualifies for the KO round (round of 16) of the relevant tournament
- When an RTTK player’s team wins 2 of their 3 remaining group stage games in the respective tournament.
When will RTTK players not get upgrades?
- When an RTTK player’s team is eliminated from the relevant tournament.
- When the RTTK player changes clubs.
- When an RTTK Player’s team qualifies for the UEFA Europa League by finishing third in their UEFA Champions League group.
This is how RTTK cards improve in the qualification upgrade
FIFA 23 RTTK Card Qualification Upgrade is a one-time additional upgrade available to any RTTK player according to the Inform Upgrade Rules. For this, the team of the respective player must qualify for the knockout round of the respective tournament during the group phase – i.e. reach the round of 16 of the Champions League, Europa League or Europa Conference League. It doesn’t matter whether the respective RTTK player actively participates in the game during the match or sits on the substitutes’ bench (the team’s performance counts).
Attention: Teams that qualify for the Europa League by finishing third in the Champions League are excluded from this upgrade as they did not qualify during the group stage.
How the RTTK Victory Streak Upgrade works
As the name suggests, RTTK players can get another one-time additional upgrade according to the Inform Upgrade rules if their team wins a certain number of matches during the group stage in the respective competition: in FIFA 23 this is this time just two out of three games left (last year it was three out of four). This has to do with the 2022 World Cup, because of which the football league operation and – with it the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference – started earlier, well before the release of FIFA 23. EA Sports is therefore a little behind with the RTTK event in FIFA 23.
When will EA Sports upgrade the RTTK cards in FIFA 23?
If an RTTK player has qualified for an upgrade in one of the competitions, their card will be upgraded in FIFA 23, usually on Friday nights. There is no exact time, but it usually happens shortly after the games.
