Board game developer Pandasaurus announced on the 5th that it would release Persona 5 The Royal board game through collaboration with Atlus.

Persona 5 The Royal is a Persona series released in 2019, and tells the story of high school students ‘Phantom Thieves of the Heart’ who leave a notice to corrupt adults and retrieve their corrupt minds. The game design for this board game will be handled by Emerson Matsuuchi, creator of the ‘Century Series’ and ‘Metal Gear Solid Board Game’.

Game designer Emerson said of the game, “It will be a cooperative-oriented strategy card game where players take on the roles of their favorite phantoms and fight to change the world.” As the adventures, cooperation, and exchanges of the phantom thieves who reclaim corruption in the original work have become the main focus, board games are also expected to follow this system.

Nathan McNair, co-founder of Pandasaurus, said, “As a big fan of Persona 5 The Royal, we want to put everyone’s Palace and Velvet Room and the world of Persona 5 The Royal on every table in 2023.”

The title of the Persona 5 Royal board game has yet to be confirmed, and the expected release date is October 21, 2023. The Korean version has yet to be released.
