Fabrice lost his car, his job, then his apartment. Until last year, he was a cook in Verviers and even worked on the set of certain films. But since March 25, he has been homeless. The 60-year-old Walloon tells us his story on the set of “It’s Not Every Day Sunday”. “At the moment, I’m in trouble. I’m on the street“, he explains.

I had a normal situation a year ago and it went into a tailspin“, specifies the man. The latter confides that his situation has degenerated. “I let myself go a little. I’m staying in a bank lockup. For a year, things haven’t been going well“, adds Fabrice. The cook explains having worked for 44 years.

“I no longer knew how to pay”

It all starts with a banal car accident. “I took a game and the car was decommissioned. After this, I could no longer go to work“, he says. Fabrice lost his job because of this. This situation had many consequences…”I no longer paid for my apartment and I lost it“, he continues. Just after the winter break, he lost his accommodation.

Fabrice receives 900 euros of unemployment, but this amount does not allow him to meet his needs. To rent something, it’s impossible, he said. “I’m staying in a bank locker, because at 11 p.m., it’s closed and we feel safe“, he explains.

The sixty-year-old would like to thank all the association volunteers who “give food“. Despite his difficult situation, Fabrice remains positive. He hopes to find work to no longer be homeless.
