Square Enix has finally announced when the second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake will be released. Well, the studio didn’t bring an exact date to the Summer Game Fest, but at least there was a time period and lots of gameplay.

The remake of Final Fantasy VII is now a whopping three years old. As is well known, Square Enix is ​​splitting the new edition into several parts. We’ve known for a while that the second part, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, is in the works. However, the developers still owed us an appointment – until now! At least somehow. cough.

Because Square Enix did not name an exact day at Summer Game Fest 2023. Instead, you have to settle for a period of time. That was mentioned in the fresh trailer Spring 2024. Let’s hope Rebirth comes sooner rather than later. But there was one exciting piece of information that suggests the scope of the game: Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth will be released on two discs.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise though, at least given the content that awaits us. Because at the end of Final Fantasy VII, the story was just getting going. This time, among other things, it goes to the open areas in and around Midgar.

At the Summer Game Fest 2023 there were also tons of gameplay scenes to see. But you won’t only see Cloud, Tifa, Barret and the rest of the festival in combat. The open areas are also showing up, including the much-anticipated Chocobo rides. In addition, Square Enix has installed some story parts that should bring nostalgic tears to the eyes of fans.
