The final list of candidates for the UAE parliamentary elections has been made. 309 people are in the competition. 128 of them are women. Elections to the Federal National Council, the UAE parliament, will be held on the 7th of next month.
There are no major changes in the final list from the preliminary list published on August 25. Most candidates are competing in Abu Dhabi. There are 118 candidates here. 57 people are competing in Dubai and 50 people in Sharjah.
21 in Ajman and 34 in Ras Al Khaimah. 14 candidates will contest in Umm Al Quwain and 15 candidates in Fujairah. 41 percent of the total candidates are women. There are 54 women in Abu Dhabi alone.
