A fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon in Châtelineau, Hainaut. According to our correspondent Fabian Vanhove, the fire took place in a vacant lot, threatening houses located nearby. Firefighters were called around 2:30 p.m. When they arrived, the ground was engulfed in flames. The fire spread to residential gardens.
After about an hour, the firefighters managed to bring the fire under control, but they remained mobilized on the spot to prevent any further spread.
Local police descended on the scene. An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the fire.
